Becoming a subscription Member

Becoming one of our members is the single most motivating act to us farmers: by giving us a name, face, and individuality to the human beings we are producing for.

It is feeding and nourishing people we choose to be our primary purpose. This is in stark contrast to the modern food system which is increasingly faceless, distant, industrialised – and irresponsible towards the end-consumer.

We and our members are bound by shared values: that truly good food comes most directly from its source, grown not manufactured, attuned to the seasons and not at the expense of the environment and local ecosystem; and that food sovereignty isn’t achieved only by consumers purchasing from producers, but by supporting them and ensuring their continuation as a matter of interdependence.

Agriculture, as supported by the community in and around it, will provide for as long as it can be provided for.

Our CSA subscription scheme

CSA (Community-supported Agriculture) is a collaboration and mutual commitment between consumers and small independent producers, existing across the world and now here at Wealdbrook Farm.

Ahead of a growing season, members of a CSA scheme reserve a share of the upcoming harvest and pay its cost upfront. The advance helps with covering the startup costs and alleviates the economic pressure on the producer. In return, members receive regular deliveries of fresh local vegetables and fruit alongside other perks – and a producer’s uncompromised effort and ethics in growing food exclusive to members.

There are many ways to interpret making an upfront payment for a CSA scheme: you can see it as hiring your own farmer to grow a private supply of food; making an investment in a small business or crowdfunding campaign for guaranteed, delicious returns; or a model not unlike any other grocery subscription services. Our CSA scheme is any and every one of these.

We regard it as a partnership steeped in trust: our members equip us with the resources and faith at the beginning of the growing season, which gives us our best chance of delivering abundance and a consistent supply of local good food. Together we share the risks, even the odds and relish the rewards that matter: greater resilience, without compromising our own welfare or ethics, in the face of uncertainty.

To give you a preview of Wealdbrook Farm’s own CSA, here is a sample of the sheer variety of vegetables, flavours, colours and textures we nurture, harvest and deliver within the shortest-possible time and distance:

Whether you have before tasted and liked our produce, or only just come across us and want to give us a chance, we invite you to become one of our closest supporters – so we may support your path to a healthier, tastier, more diverse and environmentally-conscious diet.

What will we offer?

First of all, a commitment: only our most seasonal, flavoursome, nutrient-dense and naturally-grown vegetables and fruits go into our CSA veg bundles. Our closest partners deserve our finest and best effort!

For our 2025 subscription scheme, we are offering a total of 16 veg bundles between mid-May (v20) and late September (v39). Each bundle will contain six to eight different vegetables, all grown with great care organically and chemical-free on Wealdbrook Farm grounds.

Depending on seasonal variations, here are examples of the types of vegetables you can expect at these certain times of the year:

May: Peas, radishes, turnips, spinach, mustard greens, broad beans, chard
June-July: Haricot vert, tomatoes, zucchini, kale, celery, broccoli, beetroot
August-September: Aubergines, peppers, cauliflower, cucumbers, leeks

Our members will occasionally receive a share of novelty ingredients we grow primarily to supply restaurants. Think leaf amaranth, pea shoots, Asian cooking greens like choi sum and gailan, young ginger, edible flowers, turnip tops, culinary herbs, rare chilies, barrel-shaped beetroot – things you simply can’t find in convenience stores!

How does it work?

Our subscription members will be able to pick up their veg bundle each week on Thursday at one of our designated collection points in the following locales: Trollhättan, Sjuntorp, Upphärad and Lödöse. The exact time and location will be announced at a later date.

Our members are also welcome to come collect in person on our farm.

Each veg bundle is carefully designed to supply two adults or a small (3-4 person) family. If you wish to feed a larger household with this subscription, please consider ordering an extra share.

We will reveal each week’s veg bundle contents a few days ahead of pickup day, via newsletter and our social media updates.

In addition to receiving the latest news, field notes and new product developments before anyone else, our members are cordially invited to a host of members-only events, including farm tours and harvest party. Plus a few surprises we have in store!
